Snow Cover: 0″- 2″
Trails in McHenryCounty DO NOT OPEN UNTIL Dec. 10, even if there is snow before this date. Snowmobile trails are open in the winter when there is at least 4" of snowfall on frozen ground; 6" snow on unfrozen ground.
The trails in Boone, Winnebago, Ogle, Lee and eastern Stephenson counties won’t open until Dec. 15, and only then if they are covered with 4" of snow on frozen ground. The trail closing date is March 15
